Between the Sheets

Like the other cocktails at the distillery’s bar, Between the Sheets is a balanced classic. “Our cocktails are pre-Prohibition or pre-Prohibition-inspired,” says Amy Szwejbka. “They’re still around today and for a reason. “We don’t make up drinks,” she adds. “The ones we serve reflect our spirits and decor, which is an old-school, classic kind of a vibe.”

Ingredients

Cocktail

  • ¾ ounce Hidden Ship’s white rum
  • ¾ ounce cognac or brandy
  • ¾ ounce Cointreau or triple sec
  • ¾ ounce lemon juice
  • 1 inch wide lemon twits

Instructions

  • Fill a shaker with ice, add all ingredients and shake until very cold. Pour into a chilled coupe glass.
  • To make a lemon twist, slice peel about a half inch wide and not too deep, so there is no pith. Squeeze the twist over the cocktail until the oil comes out. You want it floating on top. Rub the twist around the rim and drop it in the cocktail.
