On Thyme’s sister restaurant is fitting into the neighborhood.

It’s been a little more than a year since Brunch Thyme opened in the Brooklyn Arts District at the top of Fourth Street. And it’s busy.
The restaurant is mostly takeout and serves Southern food. Salmon and grits and chicken and waffles are two of the best-sellers, says Phallin Scott, who owns the place with her husband, Corey. Grandma Cookie Shrimp Grilled Cheese is named after Corey’s grandma.
In addition to locals, Phallin says people come from as far as Charlotte and Atlanta, after searching for Black-owned restaurants on social media. They could have gotten an assist from Keith Lee, a food reviewer on TikTok with 18 million followers. In 2023, fans of the couple’s first restaurant, On Thyme on Castle Street, nominated it as one of their favorite Black-owned restaurants in the countrywide Pepsi Dig In Restaurant Royalty Challenge; they came in as one of the top 10 winners.
