A Farmers Market Gift Guide for All Year Round

I’ve picked up a $20 jar of honey and thought, “Maybe I’m not worth it.”

If you paused while reading this, you’ve probably thought it, too. But, of course we’re worth it. If you want the honey, buy the honey.

On the other hand, I’ve been out looking for a hostess gift or something to bring when I’ve been invited for dinner and thought, “Local honey. What a perfect gift!” It’ll last longer than a bottle of wine, has that health benefit of helping with allergies and, at base, the pollinators necessary for the preservation of the plants, bushes and trees necessary to feed the world.

That’s a lot to pack in a jar.

There’s one more reason: it supports a local farmer. Which is why I thought to put together a, by no means exhaustive, list of nonperishable, value-added goods available for purchase at Wilmington’s farmers markets.

That’s more than worth it.
